Alexander Vert leads a multifaceted career as a composer. He writes instrumental, mixed, and electroacoustic works. Since 2012, he has been creating multidisciplinary works in collaboration with other artists, with music serving as the starting point. These works are often the result of research and creation projects conducted in partnership with prestigious institutions (such as IRCAM, the Geneva University of Music, etc.), where new technologies are used to build bridges with other art forms. Committed to rethinking the concert format within the realm of contemporary music, he incorporates scenography and visual arts on stage. His compositions explore themes that are particularly meaningful to him, such as the relationship between humans, death, dreams, and travel.
These immersive works draw on rich sonic and visual symbolism, offering listeners reference points and anchors that guide them toward otherworldly experiences. In collaboration with visual artists (such as Thomas Penanguer and Thomas Köppel), Alexander Vert designs custom setups for sound diffusion and visual projection for each creation, ensuring that audiences receive a perspective tailored to each work. He regularly undertakes research-creation residencies with his various partners and collaborates closely with high-level performers.
