MA Shihua is a new media artist and a faculty member in the Electronic Music Composition Department of the Composition Department at the Central Conservatory of Music in China. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Music Composition from the Central Conservatory of Music. Specializing in computer music and audiovisual art, he has consistently presented his works at major international computer music events as a cross-media artist.
His new media music works have been performed multiple times at art events in China, the United States, Europe, and other regions, including the Beijing International Electronic Music Festival, Shanghai Electronic Music Week, Poland Audio ART Festival, World Electronic Music Federation Annual Conference (CIME), International Society for Contemporary Music New Music Days (ISCM), International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), New Music Interface Conference (NIME), and Hangzhou International Electronic Music Festival. His installation artworks have been exhibited at events such as the 2015 B3+Beijing Dynamic Re-Imaging Exhibition (Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum), the 2018 China Music New Media Alliance Installation Exhibition, and the 2021 Changsha Useless Museum “Invisible Sounds” Installation Exhibition. In October 2022, he held a solo exhibition titled “Re-Sound” in Shanghai. In April 2025, he will perform a solo concert at CISTERN Space in St. Petersburg, Russia.
