Juhee Chung studied music theory at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She earned a bachelor's degree in composition from Berklee College of Music and received a diplom in composition at the Frankfurt Musik Hochschule. She continued her composition studies and also pursued computer music at the Zurich Musik Hochschule. Her piece “Tinnitus” was selected and performed at the 41st Darmstadt International Summer Course and has also been commissioned and presented at numerous music festivals both in Korea and internationally, including in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Belgium, Austria, France, and Romania. She has been invited as a composer-in-residence by IMEB (Musiques et Créations Électroniques in Bourges), ICST (Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology in Zurich). In the United States, she received the Boston Symphony Hall Award, won a prize at the 15th International Prague–Vienna–Budapest Summer Academy, and had her work pre-selected in the IMEB competition. She has also received numerous commissions and grants from various foundations. She recently presented her work at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF) and at the National Conference of the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), and currently serves as the director of the Jeju International Contemporary Music Festival and as a professor at Jeju National University."
