Yemin Oh is a composer, educator, and researcher who explores diverse approaches using electronic devices for new forms of artistic expression. His creative practice spans a wide spectrum—from acoustic music to live electronic performance, audiovisual works, and compositions utilizing sensors and mobile technology.He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Composition from Kyung Hee University and completed a Graduate Professional Diploma (G.P.D.) in Composition at the University of Hartford. He went on to receive a Master’s degree (M.M.) in Music Technology from Georgia Southern University and a Ph.D. in Experimental Music & Digital Media from Louisiana State University.

 

His research has been presented at conferences such as NIME 2013, NIME 2014, and SICMF-KEAMSAC 2014. His works have been selected through numerous international calls and presented at festivals including SEAMUS, N_SEME, Root Signal Electronic Music Festival, EMM, Electro-Acoustic Barn Dance, STUDIO 300 Music and Arts Festival, NIME, ICMC and NYCEMF. His music has been showcased in various countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Taiwan, and Australia.He is a founding member of SIENO (a contemporary music composer collective), serves as the Director of Music at the Korea Art Directors Association (KADA), and is currently the President of the Korea Electro-Acoustic Music Society (KEAMS).
