Sepideh Yaftian (Tehran, 1995) Sepideh is studying for a Master's degree in Entomology at University of Tehran. She started playing the violin when she was 9 years old under the instruction of Manizheh Raiisfarshid and Amirteimour Portorab. She studied harmony and composition by Alireza Mashayekhi, after attending the music theory classes by Najmeh Saghir and Mrs. Ebadi. Meanwhile, she has collaborated as an instrumentalist in Seda-o-Sima School of Art and Literature and Yarava Music Group. Currently, she is a member of Yarava Modern Orchestra and Contemporary Ensemble of University of Tehran. The joint piece of Yaftian and Izadyar, “Insects Fall in Love Too”, has received the 3rd place in “Reza Korourian Awards 2019”.
