João Castro Pinto began his activity as a composer / performer of experimental music and as an intermedia artist in the second half of the 1990s. His work focuses on soundscape composition, live electronics improvisation, acousmatic music and radio art.João holds a BA in Philosophy from the New University of Lisbon and is completing a PhD in Soundscape Composition at the Catholic University of Portugal – C.I.T.A.R. (Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts), where he is a researcher. João is endorsed by MIC.PT (Portuguese Music Research and Information Centre), and his music has been published by labels such as Miso Records, Unfathomless, Meakusma, among others.
