Martina Buzzi
Martina Buzzi
Switzerland

In her compositional practice, Martina Buzzi moves between electroacoustic composition, speculative theory in the form of literary writing, and choreographic engagement, which she interprets as a structural linking of temporal and spatial relations. Tonal fragments associated with memory gaps or theoretical remnants often form the basis for situational structures in the form of dislocated arrangements. Sound, body and space occur as fields of material and symbolic processes whose respective representation and execution resist a common harmonisation. This form of structural engagement consists of provisional constellations and hypotheses – and thus constitutes the form in which compositional practice presents itself. After finishing Fine Arts studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, Martina Buzzi studied electroacoustic composition (master degree) with Germán Toro Pérez. She lives and works in Zurich.
