Lidia Zielinska (*1953) is a Polish composer. She graduated from the State High School of Music in Poznan, where she studied composition with Andrzej Koszewski. She has worked at the electronic music studios of State High School of Music in Cracow, Stuttgart, Swedish Radio Malmoe, Experimental Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw, IPEM/BRT in Ghent, EMS in Stockholm, ZKM in Karlsruhe and Experimentalstudio des SWR Freiburg.Her works have been performed at festivals in many countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas. In 2007 she received the Polish Composers’ Union Award for her outstanding and comprehensive compositional achievements. Lidia Zielinska currently holds the post of professor of composition and head of the SMEAMuz Studio of Electroacoustic Music at Poznan’s Music Academy. She is currently Vice-President of the Polish Association for Electroacoustic Music, former (-2013) Vice-President of the Board of the Polish Composers’ Union. She has served as a member of the programme committee of the Warsaw Autumn Festival (1989–92 and 1996–2005), of the ISCM World Music Days in Warsaw, of the Musica After the political breakthrough of 1989 she was the initiator and co-founder of the BREVIS Music Publishers (1990), Child and Sound Foundation (1991), Friends of Warsaw Autumn Foundation (1998), Polish Society for Electroacoustic Music (2005) and other associations.
