Korean composer, Jiyoun CHOI studied composition with Sukhi Kang at the Seoul National University, and with Gilbert Amy at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon after she moved to France. And then she studied composition of computer, electroacoustic and instrumental music with Philippe Manoutry, Marco Stroppa, and Robert Pascal, and techniques of computer and electroacoustic music with Denis Lorrain at the department of SONVS in the same conservatory (diploma DNESM). In the year 2001/2002, she was selected and participated at the Cursus annuel of IRCAM. After returning to Korea, her works have been selected and performed for many festivals and competitions in many countries of the world – France, Germany, Italy, Swiss, China, Japan, Romania, Spain, Brazil, Ireland, Korea, etc. She worked for her creations with many remarkable groups of the world such as IRCAM, GRAME, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. and teaches composition at universities in Korea.
