Guan Peng is a composer, professor at the Central Conservatory of Music's Department of Music AI and Music Information Technology, and doctoral advisor, he is the first PhD in electroacoustic music composition to be trained in China. He has been a judge for both international and domestic professional electroacoustic music composition competitions. In 2000, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music to pursue a master's degree in electronic music composition under the guidance of Professor Zhang Xiaofu, and in 2005, he continued his studies for a PhD in the same field. In 2009, he received his PhD in electronic music composition and began teaching at the conservatory.

He focuses on the Acousmatic music, and his piece is frequently performed and broadcast around the world. His major award is Prix-Residence in 34e Concours Internacionaux de Musique et d'Art Sonore Eletroacustiques Bourges-2007.
