AN Chengbi, composer in France, professor, doctoral supervisor. He is currently the director of the Composition and Conducting Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. He was also professor, doctoral supervisor in Shanghai Conservatory of Music (2002-2017).

 

In 2007, he was invited as a resident composer by the German government DAAD. He has won seven international competition awards. In 1996, he was selected by the Unesco United Nations International Music Committee as one of the six representative composers of the International Forum.

 

AN Chengbi’s works were performed and published in more than 20 countries and cities around the world, and his works have been performed by world-class orchestras such as the German Radio Symphony Orchestra, the French Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Austrian New Music Orchestra and the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2020, the German Telos music records GmbH record company published and released his album  worldwide. In July 2021, his Edition 1 was also released globally by the German NEOS music records GmbH record company and Edition 2 will be published next year. His works commissioned by SWR, KONTAKTE (Biennale für Elektroakustische Musik und Klangkunst Berlin), Siemens Music Foundation in Germany and Ensemble Flashback Musiques d'aujourd' hui & nouvelles technologies in France from 2019 to 2023 will also continue to be premiered.
