Zhaoyu Zhang (b. 1988) is an award-winning composer pursuing to incorporate experimental elements into his compositions by using effective and creative way.

His compositions have won many awards. These include: Residency Prix CIME 2019 international electroacoustic music competition, first prize in Palatino composition competition (China), 1st prize in the 21st edition of Musica Viva music competition (Portugal), finalist of the 8th China Golden Bell Award, honorable mention in Kazimierz Serocki 16th International Composers’ Competition (Poland).

Zhaoyu received his undergraduate degree in composition and theory from Central Conservatory in China, and master’s and doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is now an associate professor at Inner Mongolia Normal University.
