Born in Guangdong, China, Zouning’s music draws inspiration from her fascination with nature and technology, blended with her constant curiosity about the playing capacity of instruments as she endeavors to incorporate noise into her music. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree with double majors in electronic music composition and music theory at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She is currently an Associate Instructor at Jacobs School of Music Theory Department.
Throughout her study in music composition, her music has been performed in the United States, France, and England. She was one of the finalists for ASCAP/ SEAMUS Student Composer Commission Competition in 2021, and her music has been featured in festivals such as National Student Electronic Music Event (2021), Society of Composer Inc. (2021), SEAMUS national conference (2021, 2022), New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (2022), Electronic Music Midwest 2023, CampGround23, Turn Up 2023, SPLICE Festival (2023) and Everyday is Spatial 2023.
