TALIA AMAR
Composer and Pianist Talia Amar was described as “a master composer… (she) has a fine ear for sound as well as sure compositional technique” (David Schulenberg, The Boston Musical Intelligencer). Recipient of many international awards ( Israel Prime Minister award , Acum , Rosenblum Prize for Promising Young Artist , CIRCE Composition Competition, London Ear Festival, North-South Consonance Composition Competition,… Composer Fellow of Collage New Music Boston. participation in the IRCAM ManiFeste, she was selected to represent Israel in different festivals such as ISCM World New Music in Vancouver , Asian Composers League FestivalTaiwan and ECCO Festival in Brussels .
Her compositions have been performed in numerous countries in Europe, Asia, Usa by prestigious orchestras,ensembles and soloists. Studies and B.M. with honors at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance., Mannes College of Music in NYC with Mario Davidovsky, PhD at Brandeis University ,Irving G. Fine Fellowship in Music Composition
Since 2017, Talia has been a member of the composition faculty at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel, where she also serves as the Head of Innovation and Technology in Pedagogy. She is a council member of the Israeli Composers League, and a performer of electronic music with Meitar ensemble.
