WEN Bihe is a Chinese composer whose works span instrumental, electroacoustic music, and collaborative multimedia installations. His compositions have been recognized and awarded prizes in several international competitions, such as the Musicacoustica-Beijing competition (2011, 2017), Monaco International Electroacoustic Composition Competition (2014), XXVIII Luigi Russolo Contest, Leibniz's Harmonies Prize (2016), MÉTAMORPHOSES 2016 Acousmatic Competition, XII° Destellos Competition 2019, Shanghai International Electronic Music Competition 2020, and the Denny Awards (Denver International Festival of Arts & Technology) 2021. Bihe's musical works have been selected for a variety of festivals, conferences, and concerts, including L'Espace du Son (2012, 2016), ElectroAcousticProject (Vienna), SMC Conference 2013, Monaco Electroacoustique 2015, ICMC (2015, 2020), 2016 Matera Intermedia Festival, ISCM World New Music Days 2018, Projected Sounds – BeFEM Concerts (Brussels), 41 Foro Internacional de Música Nueva "Manuel Enríquez" 2019 (Mexico City), Festival ArteScienza 2021 (Isola del Liri/Italy, UMS 'n JIP DUO), The San Francisco Tape Music Festival 2023, and Swiss Contemporary Music Festival Forum Wallis (2016, 2023), among others. In 2023, he was awarded a grant from the Annette Vande Gorne Foundation and completed a three-week composition residency at MUSIQUES-RECHERCHES in Belgium. Bihe received his bachelor's degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in China and his master's degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied with Panayiotis Kokoras. He was also a recipient of the GREAT Scholarships from the British Council. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at the Sonic Arts Research Centre of Queen's University Belfast.
