Abstract: In this workshop, we will introduce local and non-local network music techniques. Local networked ensembles are for laptop orchestras that send audio over ethernet to a Jacktrip server instead of using audio cables and a large mixer for all students. Non-local network music practices are when audio clients connect to a public Jacktrip server anywhere in the world. Participants will require an ethernet cable (10 meters) and adaptor for their computer. We will provide necessary free software, such as Jacktrip, Loopback/Jackaudio (inter application audio routing) and the Netronome (audio latency tuner). Assistants will be available to help all participants with configuration problems.
