Lecture Topic: Sound the Alarm: using climate change data for music and sound art

Abstract: This talk will discuss the sonification and audification of climate change data to make music, particularly focusing on the works ‘Three Storms’ and ‘Two Lakes’. This talk will look at specific techniques for turning data into sound, and show how this can be used to create music that helps to connect the global challenge of climate change with the human level and of personal understanding and responsibility.
